Rebecca Harris
Occupational Therapist
Norfolk County Council
I have been an Occupational Therapist for over 10 years. During this time, I have worked on two projects, one a fast-track adaptations service providing timely bathing solutions to maximise clients’ independence. The second within a preventative service carrying out joint assessments from a person-centred perspective focusing on conversations to identify an individual’s strengths, assets, networks and resources. The service focused on promoting independence and complimented the core principles of prevention, reduction and delay. Currently I work in the community covering North Norfolk. Occupational Therapy interventions include adaptations, equipment provision and Moving and Handling Assessments for clients of all ages. My chosen RiPT is reablement as I feel passionate about promoting client-centred goal setting to enable an individual to reach their full potential and I feel there is a gap in evidencing the importance and value of such Occupational Therapy intervention. Outside of work my passion is to swim, bike and run.
