Georgina Jones
Practice Manager
Norfolk County Council
I have worked in health and social care for 17 years. Over this time, I have worked in secure units for those with learning disabilities and mental health difficulties, as an Occupational therapy assistant at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital working with older people upon discharge and as an Assistant Practitioner with adults with learning disabilities. After completing my Master’s in social work in 2010 I worked as a qualified social worker with children before returning to work with adults with learning disabilities. I later expanded my experience by working as a care manager in a charity for older people before returning to Norfolk County Council to become the practice consultant in the Northern Learning Disability Team. I have personal experience of care and have been involved in the discharge process from hospital both personally and professionally. I am interested to find out peoples’ experiences of the current pathway to inform our practice and make sure that all are represented in these processes. I am passionate about social care and improving the experience for people we work with.
